Artist, entrepreneur and go-go organizer, Gayle Gross and Reserve Our Gallery launched an artistic adventure that drew regional and out-of-state artists this month.
Dedicated to turning Woodland Park into a destination for art with her gallery, art walks and special events, Gross capped off her campaign with Peak Art Adventure. During the event, from Aug. 1-8, registered artists were invited to pick a spot to paint outside, of their choosing or in pre-arranged places.
Artists painted with the Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters at Aspen Valley Ranch in Woodland Park, at Manitou Lake in the garden of Julie Cutting and in Pike National Forest with Michael Gault.
For the Quick Draw competition eight participants raced through their easels at the Vino & Notes festival at Memorial Park.
Judged in all categories by Tim Deibler, the winners included Jared Brady, Scott Yeager, Cutting and Amanda Dodson.
Park State Bank & Trust, Vectra Bank, Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, Michael and Diana Gault’s Artistic Endeavors Fine Art, Westside Gallery in Woodland Park and Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters sponsored the event. Plein Air Magazine was the media sponsor.
Exhibitions for the event are hanging on the lower level of the Woodland Park library and in the Eichman Gallery at Park State Bank & Trust through Aug. 23.
