The London Martial Arts Academy, based at the United Reformed Church on Darkes Lane in Potters Bar, received the title for London and the South East from the Prestige Awards.
The academy is led by Master Andrew Sofos, a Brookmans Park resident who has worked in the sector for decades.
Andrew said: “This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, dedication and passion of our entire team – both past and present – and of course, the incredible support from our students, families and community.”

Founded in 1986, the academy is approaching its 40th anniversary and continues to deliver training to students of all ages.
Andrew operates four clubs across London and has worked with government bodies and local authorities since 2004 to deliver youth programmes and community initiatives.
In 2011, he was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of his charitable work with young people and community groups.
The academy says it remains committed to promoting discipline, resilience and personal development through martial arts.
It continues to teach students at Darkes Lane and hopes to inspire a new generation of martial artists in Potters Bar and the surrounding area.
