Bright flashes, direct gaze, saturated colors… Rafael Pavarotti steps into the frame of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs! From September 23, 2026, to February 7, 2027, this Parisian institution is hosting its first major exhibition in France dedicated to a Brazilian photographer, showcasing over 200 photographs alongside the museum’s own collection.
The exhibition traces his career: major fashion magazine covers, portraits of pop culture icons like Rihanna, Harry Styles, and Beyoncé, as well as campaigns for iconic brands such as Dior, Balmain, Margiela, Ferragamo, and L’Oréal. Through image after image, a clear signature emerges: intense colors, bold compositions, and striking visuals that never aim to subtlety blend in.

Born in 1993 in Pará State, deep in the Amazon rainforest, Rafael Pavarotti discovered photography at age 12 while borrowing his father’s camera. With autofocus engaged, he eventually left Brazil for Rio and São Paulo, before expanding his journey to London and settling in Paris. His perspective is shaped by intimate references: the strong women in his family, the vibrant kitchenware of his grandmother, and the natural environment of his childhood.
In February 2022, he graced the cover of British Vogue with “As the world turns,” featuring seven Black models. As an Afro-Indigenous artist, he champions an engaged photography that highlights underrepresented bodies and addresses social and political issues within fashion. His images—sometimes pop, sometimes infused with surrealism—tell stories crafted alongside the models, influenced by their memories and ideas.
This fashion exhibition offers a glimpse into the scope and uniqueness of a perspective that has become essential in contemporary fashion photography.
