The council has announced a packed schedule of events, including many free activities, for residents to enjoy.
The Wandsworth Arts Fringe, which runs from June 6 to 22, will feature 180 events in 65 venues across the borough.
This includes theatre, experimental dance and music, exhibitions, cabaret, and comedy gigs.
More than 60 events in the programme are free, and £3 tickets are available for Wandsworth Access for All cardholders.
Kemi Akinola, deputy leader of Wandsworth Council and cabinet member for business, voluntary services, and culture, said: “This year, like every year, we are championing culture for all.
“The Wandsworth Arts Fringe brings playful commissions into libraries, playgrounds, streets, and schools, and we’ve supported 30 brilliant companies to bring creative projects to Wandsworth residents.”
The Wandsworth Heritage Festival, which runs from June 13 to July 13, will delve into the rich history of the borough with walks, talks, exhibitions, and performances.
The festival will team up with the Wandsworth Arts Fringe during the final week to celebrate the borough’s history through a programme of walks, talks, exhibitions, and performances.
Other summer events include Happy Streets on July 5 and 6, Country on the Common on July 5 and 6, and Battersea Park in Concert from August 23 to 25.
Justine Simons OBE, deputy mayor for culture and the creative industries, said: “Wandsworth will come alive this summer with a vibrant celebration of creativity and community.
“The Mayor’s London Borough of Culture will see an unforgettable summer of performance, art, and music, boosting the local economy and great opportunities for young people.”
The Wandsworth Arts Fringe is now in its 16th year and will be the most ambitious festival programme to date.
The festival will also host the annual WAF School’s Showcases, celebrating the talents of young people from schools across the borough.
The 2025 Wandsworth Heritage Festival will take place from Friday, June 13, to Sunday, July 13.
Highlights include art installations, dance, and performance exploring place and memory; a walk through the Surrey Iron Railway route uncovering stories accompanied by soundscapes; a talk in the Clapham Grand; literary walks through Wandsworth and Clapham Common; a talk in the Chapel of Lambeth Cemetery about the once glittering music hall stars who now call Lambeth Cemetery home; poetry events; plaque unveilings; and walks uncovering the natural flora and fauna found here.
The month-long Winstanley Past, Present, and Future Festival, which runs from June 13 to July 13, will showcase the history, culture, and talents of Battersea’s Winstanley and York Road estates.
Country on the Common will take place on July 5 and 6 in Tooting.
The festival will feature live music, line dancing, axe throwing, BBQ food, craft beer, and all things country.
Headline acts include The Shires, Ward Thomas, and Noah Reid.
Battersea Park in Concert is a weekend of three open-air, picnic concerts taking place on the August bank holiday weekend.
Symphonic Disco on August 23 and A Night at the Movies on August 24 feature the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra perform on August 25 with an array of special guests.
Each year, hundreds of Nine Elms residents flock to Thessaly Road to join the fun at Happy Streets, a free family arts festival featuring live performances, workshops, food, and more.
2025 will see Happy Streets take place across two days.
