Four special effects designers from London and Buckinghamshire scooped a BAFTA last night for their work on a Lord of the Rings spin off TV series.
Ryan Conder, Jason Smith, Richard Bain and Chris Rodgers won the award for special visual and graphic effects for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’.
The series was filmed in Windsor, and Bovingdon Studios.
Other winners, at the awards held in The Brewery London, included Eastenders, which picked up the Television Craft Special award.
Stepney born Anita Dobson presented top award to Kate Oates, head of genre, and Ben Wadey, executive producer, were presented with the award.
Supacell, a science fiction series set in South London, won the best scripted casting.
Writer and star of Baby Reindeer, Richard Gadd, won best Drama Writer for his series which follows a comedian’s turbulent relationship with his stalker, in Hackney and South London.
Sweetpea, which was filmed in South-end-on Sea and Watford, also won an award for its title sequence and graphics.
