Santu Tekam is part of the Gond tribe and is also a farmer.
He is self-trained as an artist and learned much of his craft from his maternal uncle who is a well-known artist.
Having started painting as a child, he has developed his own techniques and skills and now uses his “signature” in much of his work.
The pattern “half moon” depicts Lord Shiva’s head, while the “dot” represents a raindrop.
