Over 200 handmade embroidery, pottery and knitting artworks by Chinese disabled women were exhibited at the United Nations headquarters in New York from Tuesday local time.
The exhibition was a sideline event of the 18th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities that took place from Tuesday to Thursday at the headquarters.
Representatives from international organizations and countries attending the conference praised the creativeness and beauty of these artworks, saying they were touched by the perseverance and qualities of Chinese disabled women.
The exhibition was organized by the China Disabled Persons” Federation and Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, which shows the world Chinese disabled women’s talent by displaying their artworks on embroidery, pottery, bamboo weaving, dolls and other works combining their creative ideas and traditional Chinese elements.
The China Disabled Persons’ Federation said that the exhibition is of importance to help the world to get a better understanding of China’s achievements in supporting disabled people’s development.
