The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) is starting the new year strong with new additions, as part of its Winter 2019 Product Launch Showcase. Taking place in a sprinkling of showrooms scattered throughout the exhibition space, the event boasted the “newest lines and newsworthy collections” from Century, the Shade Store, Habachy, Showroom 58, and more than a dozen other brands. The showcase serves as the first in a modest lineup of events at ADAC, which will continue next month with Atlanta Decorative Arts Center Digital Day (February 27).
Throughout the participating showrooms, radiant hues and whimsical patterns prevailed. The Shade Store featured a collection of Roman shades, drapery, and cornices from interior designer and television personality Nate Berkus. For this particular collection, Berkus took his cue from past travels and incorporated this inspiration into the minimal prints. His roller shade collection takes a relaxed approach to Southern chic, bathing the room in a glow that still lets light filter in between the curtain’s stripes.
“I wanted to create sophisticated patterns that feel accessible to a multitude of customers and maximize the natural cotton fabric,” Berkus says. “I was inspired by the diamond and starburst motifs that were common in French 1930s and ’40s décor and developed a palette that allows those styles to work well with any room.”
The Product Launch Showcase didn’t skimp on the introduction of a number of noteworthy furniture pieces. With the launch of its Vienna collection, Century showcased its Hague dining table. The curiously shaped table features a pedestal ball at its base and is available in a variety of finishes (75 finishes are available to choose from at Century). Showroom 58 opted for the exotic with new pieces from Scala Luxury, including the copper-hued Diamond Horn Chest. Additional pieces from Scala Luxury are comprised of a medley of exotic materials, including goatskin, shagreen, and lizard skins, and gold and silver leaf.
For those eager to venture outside, Logan Gardens unveiled a line of outdoor furniture from interior designer Celerie Kemble for Lane Venture. Inspired by balmy Palm Beach, Florida, the veranda-ready pieces also pay homage to Cuban style, Victorian wicker, and French Moroccan decor.
In addition to next month’s ADAC Digital Day, events taking place at ADAC this year include Design ADAC (April 23–25), the Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards Gala (April 25), and Discover ADAC (September 24–26).
