Visitors enjoy free admission from December 24, 2025, to January 3, 2026, to the Museum’s collections and exhibitions (*with the exception of Kent Monkman: History Is Painted by the Victors). Whether you’re on your own or with friends or family, take a moment to admire and draw inspiration from the new presentation of the Museum’s Decorative Arts and Design collection. Join in a creative workshop and catch a performance by Montreal’s most extravagant vocal ensemble.
The MMFA will be open Tuesday to Sunday throughout the Holidays, but closed December 25 and January 1. Please note also that the Museum will close at 5pm on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31.

The new presentation of the MMFA’s
decorative arts and design collection.

Wander through the Museum’s five interconnected pavilions and admire the nearly 5,000 works of art and objects, from antiquity to the present day.
Head to the Liliane and David M. Stewart Pavilion and discover the new presentation of the Decorative Arts and Design collection featuring design in every shape and form—furniture, jewellery, and decorative and everyday objets d’art. Prepare to be dazzled by Dale Chihuly’s The Sun as well as the sparkling treasures showcased in the space dedicated to silverware.
Don’t miss Rising Suns: Art from the Confederacies of the Great Lakes and Rivers, an exhibition bearing witness to the histories of Indigenous art over the centuries, featuring works by Hannah Claus, Renée Condo, Maria Hupfield, Alanis Obomsawin, Christine Sioui Wawanoloath, and Skawennati.
Absorb yourself in the contemplative, luminous work of artist Marie-Claire Blais. The Streaming Light exhibition consists of the Montreal artist’s recent paintings and her most ambitious installation to date.
Turn your gaze to the creations of twenty-two Quebec artists in the exhibition Comfort and Indifference: Recent Acquisitions by the MAC who explore the notions of empathy and engagement in relation to the state of the world.
Lastly, be sure to catch the exhibition Anique Jordan: Underbelly, presented as part of the 19th edition of MOMENTA biennale d’art contemporain. The Canadian artist invites visitors to reflect on memory and the visibility of Black bodies within colonial and contemporary spaces alike.

Creative Workshop: Fun With Decorative Art Printmaking
Explore your creative side at the workshop Fun With Decorative Art Printmaking! Come craft your own motifs inspired by the objects in the Museum’s Decorative Arts collection using a simple printmaking technique—and take your creation home with you!
Free. Offered during Museum opening hours. Kindly note that very young children will require ongoing supervision during the activity.
Extravaganza Vocal Ensemble at the Museum
Come listen to Montreal’s most extravagant queer vocal ensemble perform at the MMFA’s magnificent Hall of Bronzes. The proudly diverse, 50-voice ensemble will showcase a festive repertoire of pop as well as Francophone and international classics.

Cinema for All Ages
Embark on a journey via the magic of the seventh art. Cinéma du Musée presents the animated film Little Amélie or the Character of Rain (2025, VOA), directed by Maïlys Vallade and Liane-Cho Han. In this tale inspired by the life of Belgian novelist Amélie Nothomb, a young girl born in Japan makes a discovery that will shape her understanding of the world.
