Blake Lively has taken the last few years off from the Met Gala, but tonight, she’s back. The actress returned to the biggest night in fashion wearing an archival Versace gown featuring halter straps, sweetheart neckline, and layers of cascading chiffon in various pastel shades. In a red carpet interview, Lively said the dress is from Versace’s 2006 collection, but it was “Met-ified” with an added train. The shades of airy fabric together created a watercolor effect, making it a fitting look to celebrate the Met museum’s “Costume Art” exhibit.
But that wasn’t the only way it was on-theme. Lively revealed that her box-shaped purse featured art made by her children on each side. She and Reynolds share four kids: James, Inez, Betty, and Olin. She proudly sported their creations as she made her grand entrance.

Last year, a source told People that the couple would be missing the 2025 event. “Blake and Ryan haven’t gone since 2022, when they were co-chairs, and they will not be in attendance this year,” the insider said, making it clear they are not the types of celebrities who attend every year.
Prior to tonight, 2022 was the last time both stars attended the event:

Lively just settled her It Ends With Us lawsuit against co-star Justin Baldoni today, TMZ reports. The two stars released a statement, saying, “The end product—the movie It Ends With Us—is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors—and all survivors—is a goal that we stand behind.”
Originally, the case was supposed to go to trial on May 18.
On April 6, Lively thanked fans for their support on Instagram, writing, “I’m grateful for the Court’s ruling which allows the heart of my case to be presented to a jury next month, and for the ability to finally tell my story in full at trial, for my own sake, but also for those who don’t have the same opportunity to…many of whom I have known and loved deeply in my life, and the countless I’ll never know.”
She added, “I couldn’t begin to stand up if not for the countless who’ve gone before me—and the masses who are still around us all—creating laws, social change, sparking conversations, rallying, working privately and publicly, risking and sometimes losing everything for the safety of others in all spaces. Some whose names we know, most we don’t. Thank you. All of you.”
The star signed off her message by saying, “I know it’s a privilege to be able to stand up. I will not waste it. Your support keeps me going.”
