One of London’s most famous graffiti spots has topped a list of the UK’s ‘best hidden artworks’.
Leake Street Tunnel, which is home to a flurry of colourful, ever-changing pieces of art, is just a stone’s throw away from Waterloo Station, overground and underground.
Betway Casino created the list of the UK’s best kept art secrets, ranking 30 pieces across the country by how ‘hidden’ they are.
The company also factored in how many visitors the artwork gets and how often they appear on social media.
Leake Street Tunnel, where the public are allowed to spray paint freely along the tunnel, has an annual average search volume of 64,800, and features in an impressive 81,646 Instagram posts.

While this means the tunnel’s ‘hidden’ score of 1.4 is relatively low, it remains a ‘must-visit’ spot for art lovers and urban explorers.
Coming in at number two is another London-based piece of art: the Traffic Light Tree, nestled near Canary Wharf.
The unique, kinetic sculpture reflects the hustle and rhythm of city life.
It sees 64,800 searches a year and pops up in nearly 7,240 Instagram posts.
Despite being tucked away from some of the capital’s busiest routes, the sculpture only earned a ‘hidden score’ of 4.2.
Next up on the list in fifth place is the east London-based sculpture, Quantum Cloud, which stands next to the O2 Arena.
This giant yet ‘hidden’ artwork gets 34,800 searches per year, and appears in 961 Instagram posts.
Quantum Cloud achieved the highest ‘hidden score’ of 6.8 out of the other artwork in the ‘top five’.
Brixton’s much-loved David Bowie mural also worked its way into the ‘top ten’.
Despite being located in the iconic singer’s home neighbourhood, the mural only attracts 15,600 annual searches.
It also features in 370 Instagram pictures, therefore being awarded a ‘hidden score’ of 3.7.
Other London artworks that made it into the ‘top’ 15′ also included the Cable Street Mural, at number 12.
It attracted an average search volume of 22,800 per year, and 409 Instagram posts, securing it a ‘hidden score’ of 1.7.
The list compiled by Betway Casino doesn’t just include pieces in the capital, with the Dream Sculpture in St Helens coming in third, the Lady in the Woods sculpture in Otterden sixth, and the Hare and the Minotaur statue in Cheltenham at number seven.
