The micro artist from Bournemouth has created a sculpture of Sailor Moon so small it fits inside the eye of a needle.
David A Lindon, who holds multiple Guinness World Records for his miniature work, has produced the piece to mark 70 years of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, where the character was originally serialised in Japan.
Measuring 1.31mm by 2.14mm, the sculpture depicts Sailor Moon, also known as Usagi Tsukino, who transforms from a schoolgirl to a warrior driven by love and justice.
The character is widely recognised for her influence on anime and pop culture.
David said it took two months to complete the piece using microscopic hand tools including chisels, tweezers, paintbrushes and drills.
He said: “I worked like a zombie slowing down my heart so much that it will take months to recover.
“Each evening I sat all through the night like an owl perched in front of my Nikon microscope.”
